WowKeren - Sebentar lagi ajang tahunan bergengsi MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2011 akan digelar. Baru-baru ini, daftar nama para nominator sudah terungkap. Di ajang penghargaan tahun ini, pelantun "E.T.", Katy Perry, menjadi peraih nominasi terbanyak.

Istri Russell Brand tersebut telah memborong sembilan kategori sekaligus, beberapa diantaranya adalah Video of the Year, Best Female Video dan Best Pop Video. Sedangkan peraih nominasi terbanyak berikutnya adalah penyanyi asal Inggris, Adele dan rapper asal Georgia, Kanye West.

Sama seperti Katy, Adele juga terdaftar dalam kategori Video of the Year, Best Female Video dan Best Pop Video. Selain itu, dia juga akan bersaing dengan Lady GaGa untuk memperebutkan kategori Best Art Direction.

Sedangkan Yeezy (panggilan akrab Kanye West) akan bersaing ketat dengan Chris Brown dan Nicki Minaj di kategori Best Hip-Hop Video. Selain itu, ia juga bakal berhadapan dengan penyanyi muda idola para remaja, Justin Bieber, untuk memenangkan nominasi Best Male Video.

Perhelatan MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2011 akan diselenggarakan di Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, pada 28 Agustus. Para pengisi acara yang akan tampil di ajang penghargaan ini akan diumumkan pada akhir bulan Juli. Para penggemar bisa memberikan dukungan bagi para nominator dengan cara memilih mereka melalui line voting vma.mtv.com.
