Tahun ini 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' berhasil meraih penghargaan terbanyak untuk tiga kategori di MTV Movie Awards 2014.

WowKeren - MTV Movie Awards 2014 merupakan salah satu ajang penghargaan yang dinanti kawula muda untuk memilih film-film Hollywood terfavorit mereka. Tahun ini, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" berhasil menyabet penghargaan terbanyak. Meski tahun ini 'pembagian' piala popcorn emas cenderung rata, namun film yang dibintangi Jennifer Lawrence itu mampu meraih 3 penghargaan di MTV Movie Awards 2014.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" menyabet piala popcorn emas untuk kategori Movie of the Year, Best Male Performance (Josh Hutcherson) dan Best Female Performance (Jennifer Lawrence). Sementara itu, sejumlah film lainnya juga berhasil meraih lebih dari satu penghargaan. Film-film tersebut antara lain "We're the Millers", "This is the End" dan "The Wolf of Wall Street".
Film komedi "We're the Millers" sukses menggondol penghargaan Breakthrough Performance serta Best Kiss untuk adegan ciuman Will Poulter, Jennifer Aniston dan Emma Roberts. Sementara akting Rihanna sebagai cameo sukses mencuri perhatian di film "This is the End" yang juga meraih penghargaan Best Musical Moment. "The Wolf of Wall Street" memberikan penghargaan untuk Leonardo DiCaprio dan Jonah Hill lewat kategori Best WTF Moment dan Best Comedic Performance.
Malam itu, MTV Movie Awards 2014 juga memberikan penghormatan bagi Paul Walker. Selain menayangkan video spesialnya, MTV juga memberikan penghargaan atas akting Paul bersama Vin Diesel di "Fast and Furious 6" lewat kategori Best On-Screen Duo.
Ajang penghargaan tersebut diadakan pada 13 April waktu setempat di Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, Amerika Serikat. Acara ini dipandu oleh Conan O'Brien sebagai host. MTV Movie Awards ke-22 ini dimeriahkan oleh penampilan musik Eminem, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Zedd dan Twenty One Pilots.
