WowKeren - "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" mungkin tak berhasil masuk dalam nominasi film terbaik di ajang penghargaan Oscar 2016 lalu. Namun, film arahan sutradara J.J. Abrams ini berhasil mendominasi daftar nominasi dalam penghargaan bergengsi lainnya MTV Movie Awards 2016.

Seri ke-7 film "Star Wars" ini sukses mendapatkan 11 nominasi termasuk Movie of the Year dan Best Female Performance. Sedangkan film superhero "Deadpool" juga sukses mendapatkan 8 nominasi diantaranya untuk Movie of the Year dan Best Male Performance yang diwakili oleh Ryan Reynolds.

Selain keduanya, sejumlah film lainnya yang juga siap bersaing sebagai Movie of the Year diantaranya "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Creed", "Jurassic World" dan "Straight Outta Compton". Sedangkan aktor peraih Oscar tahun ini, Leonardo DiCaprio juga berhasil masuk nominasi Best Male Performance dan Best Fight antara dirinya dan beruang dalam film "The Revenant".

Sementara itu, MTV Movie Awards 2016 sebelumnya telah menunjuk nama aktor Dwayne Johnson dan Kevin Hart sebagai pemandu acara. Ajang penghargaan MTV Movie Awards ke-25 ini sendiri baru akan digelar pada 9 April dan tayang pada 10 April mendatang.
